Planning underway for 2012 Academy

Racing faces some significant challenges. These will require a positive and sustained response from all parts of the Industry. Increasing the effectiveness of management is critical to the success of this response. This programme has shown already that it can make a significant contribution to meeting these challenges.

The British Racing School have teamed up with the Peplow Group to provide meaningful, results driven management training, specific to the racing industry. Now in its third year, the Academy has proved to be a huge success, delivering measurable results.

Who should attend?

This programme would suit those who aspire to senior roles within your organisation. Careful selection of candidates ensures that the organisation gains maximum benefit from the programme. Several clients have pointed out that the investment in the programme is often less than the cost of recruiting a replacement and good staff need to be retained, not lost to competitors.

What makes this offer different?

The programme is restricted to those working in racing so that the discussions and programme are placed in the context of the issues that face racing. The partnership with The British Racing Schools ensures Peplow trainers are continually updated on the issues that face racing and the attitudes and politics management positions face working in the industry.

Within the Academy framework we offer choice. Each individual, having been assessed, follows their own individual development plan. Individuals are therefore able to plan, choose and commit to various activities that are designed to meet their exact individual needs. For many there will be a requirement for new ideas, tools or techniques. For others, there will be a need for coaching and support to make best use of new knowledge and to help them become more effective. Read more about our work with The British Racing School

“The Academy provided me with numerous useful ‘tools’ which have undoubtedly helped me progress in to my current role as General Manager at Carlisle Racecourse. It covers a wide range of key business areas and teaches you techniques to manage both yourself and other people. It is also a great chance to meet with peers from within the industry to share ideas and best practice and I would recommend it to anyone seeking to further their career and personal skill set.”

Richard Clements – General Manager at Carlisle Racecourse. Graduate of the 2009 Racing Academy
