We have developed a series of five workshops to match the 12 Competencies identified by the MAP assessment. Each workshop can either form part of a development programme or be delivered as a stand alone activity
Managing Performance
This is one of the most difficult aspects of any manager’s role. Poor performance management often accepts poor performance as the norm. This workshop will give delegates the opportunity to understand the benefits of setting expectations and then maintaining effective performance management standards. It will explain the duals roles of disciplining and counselling to ensure fairness and consistency. It will give delegates the opportunity to plan, prepare and conduct performance management interviews.
Communicating Effectively
Why do some people come across so clearly – yet others seem to struggle. This workshop will unlock some of the barriers to effective communication. Some managers appear attentive yet others come across as poor listeners at best! This workshop covers all aspects of communication from verbal to electronic, listening and understanding.
Managing Yourself
This workshop focuses simply on individuals being well organised. It links together the important steps of setting goals, managing time and prioritising actions. It will focus on planning and being pro active rather than reactive. It will also highlight the waste and inefficiency created by poor timekeeping and an understanding of the knock on effect – to others – of poor organisation. This will help individuals step back from fire fighting and take control of their time and tasks.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
How often do we jump to conclusions without really understanding the problem? The workshop will give delegates the opportunity to recognise, define and establish root causes rather than simply tackling symptoms. They will be able to apply tools and techniques to improve their ability to make decisions.
Developing Your People
Have you ever considered how some managers seem to be able to get the best from their people and others struggle? This workshop will give delegates an opportunity to develop their people skills and understanding of what motivates and what doesn’t. In particular it will focus on the benefits of coaching, enabling and developing their team rather than simply telling them what to do.
