“The Management Academy has gained an excellent reputation. Our experience is that it is well managed and structured and that it quickly develops and enhances the skills of those on the programme”.

Planning underway for 2014 Academy
Racing faces some significant challenges. These will require a positive and sustained response from all parts of the Industry. Increasing the effectiveness of management is critical to the success of this response. This programme has shown already that it can make a significant contribution to meeting these challenges.
The British Racing School have teamed up with the Peplow Group to provide meaningful, results driven management training, specific to the racing industry. Now in its fifth year, the Academy has proved to be a huge success, delivering measurable results.
Who should attend?
This programme would suit those who aspire to senior roles within your organisation or those who would benefit from development in their existing position. Careful selection of candidates ensures that the organisation gains maximum benefit from the programme. Several clients have pointed out that the investment in the programme is often less than the cost of recruiting a replacement and good staff need to be retained, not lost to competitors.
What makes this offer different?
The programme is restricted to those working in racing so that the discussions and programme are placed in the context of the issues that face racing. The partnership with The British Racing Schools ensures Peplow’s facilitators are continually updated on the issues and polotics that face managers in the racing industry.
Within the Academy framework we offer choice. Each individual, having been assessed, follows their own individual development plan. Individuals are therefore able to plan, choose and commit to various activities that are designed to meet their exact individual needs. For many there will be a requirement for new ideas, tools or techniques. For others, there will be a need for coaching and support to make best use of new knowledge and to help them become more effective. Read more about our work with The British Racing School

Feedback from the Graduates of the 2012 Racing Academy
“The programme has been excellent in giving me the skills and tools I need to develop a well rounded management style – I look forward to putting everything in to practice over the coming year.”
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the Academy and am extremely grateful for being given the opportunity to study for the qualification. I will continue to endeavour to apply what I have learnt and would highly recommend the Course to anyone keen to develop their management and leadership skills.”
“I am more measured in my approach. There is a vast improvement by involving the members of my team. I definitely listen more carefully to others. Can I thank you for what has been the most engaging course I have ever been on.”
“I have greatly enjoyed the course and like the practical elements/role playing scenarios as well as having a regular forum to discuss issues/problems. I came on the course primarily to become a better manager and this course has definitely helped improve this.”
Feedback from an Employer of a 2012 Graduate
“As an indication of how positive she feels about the Course, she had already shared the results of her tests and confirmed a very positive view of the year. Our reservations that it may be either too JCR or even too racing proved unfounded and the benefits of immediate relevance have been unlocked. She has enjoyed being part of the group and it has given her an independent network of peers which is a further benefit to the organisation.”
